A Different Type of Road Trip..

Long time…….I know. There has been quite a bit going on in the world and in my head these last few months. But, I won’t bore you with the details….just know that it has been a Sh*t Show.

For the past few months, I have been in a creative funk in regards to my current collection. I have added a few new works to a different collection that I am working on. I’ll have more on that soon.

In the meantime, I have been on a cross-country road trip with another artist (Clifton Henri: Google him; great guy, great artist) working on one of his projects. In the process, it has allowed me to get out of my studio and work on something a little different. I want to still use the same narrative of connection people the same way that wine and spirits does, but different. I just have to figure out how to tie it all together.

I drive about 50K a year attending art shows all over the country. We mostly travel on interstates for the most direct route. For this trip, we are mixed it up with a lot of backroads and small towns. That has been a totally different experience . Not only for the scenery, but the slow pace and realization of how the rest of the country is processing all this. For many, it’s life as normal, but now they have to wear a mask and can figure out why everyone is so angry! I guess...it’s all about empathy and prospective. Your perception is your reality but just because its not affecting you doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Be safe and cover your face, folks….if not for yourself, do it for your neighbor.

Cheers!
